The ‘EDL’ (Electricité Du Liban) print features the modernist facade of the headquarters of Beirut’s electricity in the Mar Mikhael district, as architect Pierre Neema modeled it in the mid-1960s. This landmark, which once symbolized the progressiveness of Beirut, has come to be an obvious witness of its failings, with its dusty facade and half-lit neon sign.
